'Cast Shadows' Series

The three prints in the ‘Cast Shadows’ series, show the shadows cast by everyday household objects, (in this case, tea strainers). In showing not the object itself, but the shadow cast by it, I try to overcome / escape the mundane, functional nature of the object and look at it in a new light by exploring its other aspects, such as the form and the space it occupies. The object is deconstructed and then reconstructed through allowing the viewer to see it in a new way, free from its original purpose.
